Another Update

I’ve never been the best at consistent blog updates.

However, everyday is an opportunity to start anew. So, here’s an abridged recap of the past 52 weeks.

kyle Dyer life update

  • Bucket List Item: Received my first passport.
  • Celebrations: Had two wonderful wedding showers with family and friends.
  • Major Milestone: Kayla and I got married on September 7, 2013.
  • Bucket List Item: Left the country! Honeymooned in Jamaica at Couples Sans Souci.
  • Milestone: I turned 28.
  • Goodbye: After two years in Tennessee, we said so long to our friends in Knoxville.
  • Move: Kentucky became the sixth state that I’ve had an address in. We moved to Louisville, a.k.a. Derby City.
  • Race: Ran the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5k in Huntington, where the Dyer/Queen clan took home the prize for the largest family for the second consecutive year.
  • Concert: John Mayer in Louisville

  • Wedding: Our friends Britt and Alyssa tied the knot.
  • Rest in Peace: My strong and humble Uncle Cookie passed away.
  • Concert: The one and the only, Justin Timberlake in Louisville.
  • Noel: Ah, Christmas. How I love thee.
  • Auld Lang Syne: Greeted 2014 in Louisville.
  • Bizz: ‘Twas the coldest season.
  • Sochi: As with every Olympics, I was enthralled with the Russian Winter Olympics.

  • Oscars: Kayla and I celebrated our favorite yearly event, the Academy Awards.
  • Local Life: We walked three miles to see the spectacular Thunder Over Louisville fireworks.
  • Strike: Cheered on the Louisville Bats on opening day.
  • Return: Visited Knoxville for the first time since we moved. It was probably the best weekend we ever had in Tennessee.
  • Wedding: Our friends (and former coworker) Kellie and Josh tied the knot.
  • On the Court: Kayla and I played tennis. It was hysterical.


  • Concert: Rod Stewart and Santana in Louisville.
  • Beach: Took our yearly retreat to Nags Head and Bald Head Island.
  • The Bard: Enjoyed Henry V at Shakespeare in Central Park, just a few steps from our apartment.
  • Work Life: I became Peake Media’s Creative Director.
